The Siskiyou Resource Conservation District proposes to implement high-priority instream, riparian, and floodplain restoration treatments along approximately two miles of the upper mainstem Scott River between Young’s Dam and Horn Lane. This project will implement restoration designs developed during Phase I planning and environmental compliance, focusing on the lower portion of the original four-mile study area. Work will include engineered large wood structures, side-channel and floodplain reconnection, channel contouring, bioengineered bank treatments, and native riparian revegetation. The project will improve juvenile salmonid rearing habitat, increase hydraulic complexity, reduce bank erosion and sediment delivery, improve riparian function, and increase climate resilience in a simplified and channelized reach of the Scott River.
