An extreme drought in the 2014 water year set the stage for the largest scale rescue and relocation
effort of juvenile coho salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch) in the history of the California Dept. of Fish
and Wildlife (CDFW): an estimated 116,000 coho. Sharing how this complicated effort was
accomplished by a diverse array of participants under trying conditions is a primary focus of this report. Recommendations are also made about what went well and what could be done better, in case similar emergency projects need to be implemented in the future.
